An Au Pair is welcomed as a member of your family and as well as the assistance it will provide you with childcare and keeping the household running, it lets you and your children experience living with someone from a different culture and often speaking a different language – it’s a great opportunity for your children to learn about different cultures by welcoming an Au Pair to your home.
The Au Pair will assist with childcare duties and light household chores in return for free board and accommodation and weekly ‘pocket money’.
Most Au Pairs would work between 25 and 35 hours a week and assist with before and after school care, caring for preschoolers, entertaining children, taking children to activities, preparing children’s dinner, helping with the morning and evening routines, and light housework.
We recruit Au Pairs from all over the world and they typically range from 18-24 years but some can be up to 30 years old. They usually stay with a family for up to 6 months (up to 12 months can be arranged if required).
An Au Pair is not a qualified nanny however all our Au Pairs have a good amount of childcare experience either from their home country or as an Au Pair in Australia or overseas. They are all fully screened, have a good level of English, are First Aid trained in children’s First Aid and have completed our Au Pair training program if they haven’t Au Paired before. Most of all, they have a natural love of children.
